The Wishing Jar

Are you watching your beautiful baby grow, helping them to thrive but at the same time wistful as you see their babyhood slip away? Every new stage of childhood brings its own joys; first steps, first words, first school play, big wins, little victories, wonderful achievements and hopes and dreams for the future. It is a gift to be able to savour your children while they are little but also capture a little piece of their babyhood to keep with you as they grow up big and strong, off to conquer the world.  The Wishing Jar is here to help you do just that.

Raised Impressions and Baby Castings

The Wishing Jar specialises in helping you to create treasured memories of your baby that you can keep as artwork or jewellery. Lois at the Wishing Jar can offer you a range of lovely ways to remember your child’s babyhood from raised impressions of hands and footprints, to 3-D castings and numerous styles of bespoke jewellery.  Everything is hand-crafted to order and made here in Gosforth.

The raised impressions can be hung on the wall, turned into decorations or Lois can etch them into silver so they can be worn. The 3-D castings can be your baby’s hands or feet, or the clasped hands of a parent and child and they make a beautiful display when mounted with a first pair of shoes or a photograph.

Fingerprint Jewellery

Here at Lemon Drop, our definite favourite is the fingerprint jewellery. Your loved ones fingerprints can be etched into silver and worn as a necklace or a broach. As a beautiful way to honour and incorporate the children at a wedding, Lois even made a stunning bridal bouquet pin. The sky is the limit. If you have a particular idea that you would like to pursue, get in touch and see what she can do for you.

All of the things made at The Wishing Jar would make beautiful baby naming gifts or commemorative gifts for families with little people.
